Manuel António da Silva Neto

Born in August 1965, Manuel António da Silva Neto started his high school and university studies in Agronomy in the Huambo Province, and concluded his higher education in France.

He concluded a Diploma of In Depth Studies in the field of Rural Sociology by the University of Toulouse – Le Mirail and afterwards he registered in a Doctorate Thesis where Land and Customary law have constituted the key elements of his research.

Mr. Neto worked as a professor for the High School Agriculture Institute in Huambo, as a Director for the High School Agriculture Institute in Malange and as a Technical Assistant for the National High School Bureau and of the Education Ministry of Angola.

In 1998 Mr. Neto opted for the non-profit movement where he was the General Coordinator of AAD (Acção angolana para o Desenvolvimento) and worked as a researcher for ADRA (Acção para desenvolvimento rural e ambiente) and was subsequently promoted to Assistant General Director.

Mr. Neto was also a Coordinator for “Rede Terra”, and independent consultant having participated in the strategic planning process for IECA, OIKOS and IDA respectively.

In 2004, Mr. Neto embraced the business world having actively participated in the founding and development of two projects for Vernon in the agroindustrial sector in the province of Benguela, respectively PROCEA, Lda and COMFUBA, Lda where he acts as Executive Director.

In 2007 Mr. Neto joined Grupo Vernon where he holds the title of Executive Administrator.
